Ned Eugene Sperry
1938 ~ 2013
Ned Sperry passed away January 31, 2013 with his loving wife by his side. He was born to Thomas LeRoy Sperry and Thelma Jones of Nephi, UT on April 13th 1939. He graduated from Juab High School and later went on to complete his electrician's apprenticeship from Utah Valley State College.
Ned married the love of his life Mattie Lee Craft April 23 1960 and was later sealed in the Manti Temple on April 14th 1972.
He is survived by his wife Mattie; children, Debbie (Justin) Winn, Kevin (Sheryl) Sperry, Julie Randolph, (Robert Potter), Jeremy Sperry (Jon Morgan), Michael Sperry, Bryer Sperry, 12 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, sisters Darlene (Lamar) Everitt and Linda (Dennis) Sherwood, and sister-in-laws LuDean Sperry and Pat Sperry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Neil Sperry and Lee Sperry, sister, Joyce Sorenson, mother-in-law, Gladyse Stang, and daughter, Kathy Potter.
Ned has dedicated his life's work to building a strong family and serving The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with many callings. His handyman business has earned him an honorable reputation of being kind, strong and patient in all that he had done. Ned's wise words have built a family of multiple generations to follow him by being the example of a wonderful husband, father, grandparent, great grandparent, and friend. Even up to Ned's passing, his ambitions and thoughts were of family which is testament to his dedication and loyalty to those whom he loved.
Funeral services were held at 11am Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 North 100 West, Nephi. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
