Robert L. Tolley
Robert LaMar Tolley, 86, Nephi , UT passed away on April 11, 2014, after sustaining serious injuries from a fall
Bob was born in Nephi on January 22, 1928 to John Floyd Tolley (Jack) and Della Orme Tolley Durham.
Bob graduated from Juab High School and attended Snow College for a brief time.
Bob married his sweetheart, Norma Rae Howlett on June 9, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Bob was musically gifted. He taught himself to play the piano. He conducted many choirs including church cantatas and community choir productions. He sang in many quartets. He loved listening to music. Bob particularly enjoyed classical instrumental pieces, opera, and the Tabernacle Choir.
Throughout his life, he worked for the rubber plant in Nephi. He worked his way up the career ladder and was the Chief Chemist when he retired. Bob was a very hard worker. He was never late for work, rarely took time off for vacations, and had to be very ill to not go to work.
Bob also worked out of his home for Farmers Insurance Group. Almost every evening, he would sit at his desk working on this. We had an almost constant stream of insured clients coming to the house to have Bob take care of their insurance needs.
Robert is survived by his wife, Norma Rae Howlett Tolley; daughter, Debra Tolley Schneider; son, David L. Tolley; and son Dale N. Tolley; brother Garth Tolley. He is also grandpa to 9 grandchildren and great-grandpa to16. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert R. Tolley and brother, Kent Tolley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, April 17, 2014, in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 N 100 W. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W 300 N Nephi and at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
