The Juab High School Drama Department will be performing a modernized version of Gilbert and Sullivan's, "Princess Ida" on November 21-23 and 25-26. Show times start at 7:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m.matinee on Saturday.
"Princess Ida" is a fantastic family show as the cast has modernized it to appeal to every age. It embodies feminism, women's education, and a literal war between the sexes.
It all starts out when a prince is determined to marry his betrothed, Princess Ida. Princess Ida, though, has locked herself away at college in a sorority focused around feminism and women superiority. The prince and two friends decide to sneak into the college to get her back, and have to cross dress as women to be successful. Add in a few sassy kings to the mix and you get a hilarious show for everyone!
The main characters include Hayley Willmore as Princess Ida; Ryan Hughes as Prince Hillarion; Riki Squire as King Gamma; Sam Holladay as King Hildebrand; Jesse Etherington as Cyril; Taylor Ludlow as Florian; Savannah Behrmann as Francesca; and Sarah Clements as Lady Blanche.
