Lowell S. Hess

Lowell Smith Hess passed away November 11, 2013 in his home due to complications resulting from a fall.
He was born in Farmington, Utah on February 4, 1933 to Gilbert and Elzada Adams Hess. In his youth he spent summers working at Lagoon. He graduated from Davis High School in 1951 and attended the University of Utah. He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and was stationed in Tacoma, Washington. During his years in the service, he was an aircraft mechanic on the F102 Bomber. He worked for the federal government as a Quality Assurance Logistic Specialist and after retirement worked for Farmington Area Pressurized Irrigation District. He was a very practical do-it-yourself man and was proud of the fact that he was able to build what was then his dream home in Farmington, Utah. He married Donna Jean Scarpelli on September 5, 1952 in Clearfield, Utah, later divorced. Married Renee Van Fleet, later divorced. Married Wilda Hardy Madsen in 2002 and together they enjoyed the winter months in Mesquite, NV.
Survived by wife, Wilda Hess; daughters Alana Hess, Shelton WA and Lori Newell, Mona, UT; stepchildren Lisa Howard, South Weber, UT, Darron Schryver, Clinton, UT, Scott Schryver, Kaysville, UT, and William Schryver, Cedar City, UT, grandchildren Joshua, Jacob and Jordan Newell and many other adopted grandchildren; Nephews Scott and Don Hess and Niece Cheryl Argyle. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Farrell J. Hess and Donald L. Hess.
Funeral services were held at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 North Main, Farmington, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16. Burial in the Farmington City Cemetery, with military honors.
