John Field
1937 ~ 2025
John Oliver Field, our kind, loving, hardworking husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away June 7, 2025 in Nephi, Utah surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 5, 1937 in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania to Oliver and Sarah Ann Opfar Field. He grew up in Pennsylvania until he was 9 years old and then moved to Fountain Green which he called the celestial kingdom. He had a deep love for Pennsylvania. He had a deep love for Fountain Green. He attended school in Fountain Green and graduated from Moroni High School. He married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Camille Rasmussen. They recently celebrated 69 years of marriage. John and Camille have lived all of their lives in their beloved Fountain Green. They have enjoyed relationships with many special friends and neighbors who have meant so much to them. John served in numerous callings in the LDS church and loved serving with his wife in the Manti Temple where they met and worked with many dear friends. He worked in many forms of employment to provide for his family and after retiring from working for the Church, he worked 8 more years mowing lawns at the cemetery which he loved. He has a legacy of serving others. John and Camille were a great team, were completely devoted to each other, and showed by their example how to serve their family, friends, and neighbors. Traditions that the family loved with him were Christmas Eve parties, birthday celebrations, and many family and holiday get togethers. Lamb Day has always been a wonderful time of the year. John served 22 years preparing the lamb pits and cooking lamb for the community celebration. He loved telling stories, he loved fixing and repairing things, he loved animals, especially horses. He loved his home and took pride in keeping it a beautiful and peaceful place to be. He loved his family and supported them in all they have done. He loved his wife deeply with a love that will last through eternity. He was always telling his family “Isn’t she beautiful” and “She is the love of my life”. John and Camille are both examples of how to treat others with kindness, love, and respect. John is survived by his wife Camille, daughters Kerry (Steve) Howarth, Kristy (Kent) Wilkey, and son Jeff (Andrea) Field, 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, sisters Sharon Meadows and Beverly (Marvin) Scow, numerous nieces and nephews.
